Sparks.
From the Apocrypha in the Wisdom of Solomon:
“In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble.”
They will run like sparks through the stubble.
How great is that statement? Poetic. Visionary. Hopeful. Restorative.
The writer was referring to “the age to come”. Which basically means that in the time when all things are restored. At this time, the community of God will play its role in restoring the world.
Described as, “running like sparks through the stubble”.

You should think about this idea while listening to Nina Simone’s Sinnerman. It’s on my MySpace account now if you’d like to take me up on this offer. And it’ll keep you from searching the internet for it.
The song in the background brings about images of sparks darting back and forth. Restoring. Creating. Organized chaos.
It is a beautiful metaphor.
