Jack Me

How close is the resemblance? I mean if you took away my Auburn hat, beard, and gave me a cigarette, it might be tough to tell us apart. I just started looking at his Rolling Stone cover tonight (at the Coffee Loft in Fairhope - can I get some free drinks) and finally realized why Anna had a “dream” about the guy. And as far as man crushes go . . .

We met up with Nick and Leslie during their pre-honeymoon, honeymoon. And went to one of their sketchier places I’ve been when it comes to shady backwoods places. It was advertised as a pizza place but in reality was a bar. Yet had nothing on tap. It was just a really odd combination. But the pizza and friends were good. Nothing like a hole in the wall bar for a midafternoon snack at the beach.

We then finally broke down and bought the Bob Marley cd we’ve been eyeing for about a month. Then proceeded to listen to it in the pouring afternoon rain.

I later tried Coke Blak. After checking 4 stores, we finally found it and it was anticlimatic. It is perhaps one of the worst things I’ve ever put in my mouth. It’s a mixture of coke and coffee. Presumbably Coke’s entrance into the energy drink market. It tastes like the bottom of a shoe that had tracked through coffee grounds. It was horrible. I chased it with a chocolate cupcake and a spoonful of chocolate icing. I don’t know why they keep trying to come up with different versions of Coca-Cola Classic. The hybrids always suck but yet they keep churning out new things that never taste as good as the original. There has to be a lesson in that somewhere.

We ended the night by watching my $5 copy of Wayne’s World for creative ideas for the podcast.

And read my wonderful friend Sharon’s blog as she quoted and reflected on Wordsworth.

Listening for the day included but was not limited to, Bob Marley, Carissa’s Weird, Augustana, The Damnwells, and Cary Brothers.

With our song of choice being Chicago by Sufjan Stevens.

Rest. Peace. Relaxation. Flow. Reflection. And the mini-vacation continues.

    Marley’s Legend is amazing,
almost as amazing as Illinios by Sufjan.
Oh, and I heard that Coke Blak is horrible and I refuse to try it.
