Peter Gammons.
There are not too many “stars”, Hollywood or otherwise, that I feel deeply about. Like if something happened to them, I would lose any more sleep on them than over an “average” loss. But Peter Gammons is different.
I know I’m late on this, but Peter Gammons had a brain aneurysm yesterday. He is now listed in good condition.
Peter is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame and is a national sportswriter from Boston. He’s a fixture in the ESPN community and the baseball community at large.
As dead seriously as I can say this, he’s one of my heroes. He does what he loves for a living. Loves music and not just classic rock. But all kinds of new stuff. He’s constantly going to concerts. Loves good food. And seems to be one of the most generous, gracious, and kind personalities out there. He’s everybody’s friend. And I wish he was my grandfather.
Peter Gammons is one of the few people that I deeply respect in the “biz”. So please keep him and your family in your thoughts and prayers.

couldn’t agree with you more. gammons constantly reminds me what i love about baseball. he’s the absolute definition of class and, just as importantly, a bostonian. i’ll be praying.

That’s how I feel about Chris Berman. Undoubtedly.
