Tony Jones: The Lyrical Gangsta

I’ve avoided mentioning anything that’s been going on lately with some of the Emergent Village critics because I’m trying to distance myself from fights (and God help me . . . be more hopeful when I blog). But a guy named Brett gave a paper recently in an academic setting critiquing and “calling out” some of my “man crushes”.

Tony Jones has been responding on a couple of different blogs via comments, but finally wrote a “formal” response on his blog this afternoon.

I think it’s excellent and reminds me of the way a poetic/gangsta version of Gandalf might respond with words. So if that’s not an endorsement, then I don’t know what is.

I’m to lazy to put in all the links, but you can find them on Tony’s blog.

Nice comment on Tony’s blog. I want in if there is going to be a gang fight. I may be just saying that because I just got home from the gym and the endorphins are flowing but it sounds like a hell of a good time.

Tony needs to take an updated picture of himself for people to use on their blogs. For all we know he could have a mullet by now and we are all none the wiser. I mean he does live up north and that requires some long hair to protect your neck from frostbite.
