A Grand Experiment in Common Living.

Jessica & Tank are moving back to Tulsa where according to Tank . . . Garth Brooks, Hanson, QuikTrip, parking meters, the guy who invented fire all originated in. I’m sure most of the naysayers out there are smiling right now. You know who you are . . . the ones who root against my beautiful wife and I. But you can turn that smile upside down. Because our experiment didn’t fail. If anything it was a great success.

We met and lived with strangers who became family. We shared meals. Shared laughs. Shared tears. And fought in public. Our boundaries were stretched at times. And we were constantly challenged to consider the “other” before ourselves.

It only lasted 3 months. But it was a great run while it lasted. And it has made me a better person.

But basically Jessica & Tank have a great opportunity to go back and live in the house that Tank grew up in. So they are naturally jumping at the opportunity to do so.

We had a blast in these 3 months and it’s made Anna and I realize just how good we have it in life. While we work hard at times . . . I think we are beginning to realize that we are basically glorified kids. Playing and experimenting with all kinds of things. Traveling and laughing and savoring all the good things that are in front of us everyday. Doing things that most couples only talk about and wish they had enough guts to do.

Anyway . . . you can read Jessica’s reflections here and watch a little video blog she put together of their time in Atlanta below.

I think you let a lot of us see what it was like and that it was worth the risk to try it. So, now you know!

Bailey said he is mad at us for taking away the Nerf target guns (he shot Michelle in the face as she was washing dishes). He got a frowny face at pre-k for being a bully. Bad week. So we put him on restriction (no t.v., Gameboy, blah blah blah). He said he doesn’t love us and is leaving. Since you have a spare room now I’ll send him your way. I-20 east, and then what? FYI he likes mac and cheese, chicken, and Hershey bars. See if you can get along with him.
