Josh - Sorry I missed the call last night after the show. We headed straight to bed and some prebed reading. . . so I didn't want to get worked up with Lost talk when we were snuggling reading.

That having been said. . . Lost talk.

Sayid is by far my favorite character. I just think he seriously kicks some ass. I also think he has everything under control.

Jack - He is one heck of a piano player. But he is also developing into someone that understands the game he has to play on the island.

Locke's father. . . I am going to go out on a limb and say that it is not really him. We have seen other things that the island has made manifest that aren't real. Eko's brother, Kates horse, Jack's father. . . I just don't think this guy is actually the guy we saw earlier. The island just made a vision come true.

Ben is a key player. . . he has to balance everything and everyone out. If he dies, the mysteries of the island die. .

Just some thoughts from the workspace.

Richard Alpert (the other dude that recuited Juliet with Ethan for Mittelos) showed up in this episode - Another famous name -

"Real-life Dr. Richard Alpert (a.k.a. Ram Dass) is a noted psychologist and Hindu spiritualist. In 1963 he was dismissed from Harvard University for his research (in collaboration with Timothy Leary, Aldous Huxley, Allen Ginsberg and others) into psilocybin, LSD-25, and other psychedelic chemicals. Later he traveled to India where he was given his Hindu spiritual name "Ram Dass" which translates as "Servant of God"

<a href="http://www.familyresource.com/lifestyles/mental-environment/television-opiate-of-the-masses" rel="nofollow">It's not so much LOST, as it is... well...any TV whatsoever:</a>

"Realizing viewers automatically enter a trance state while watching television, marketers began designing commercials that produce unconscious emotional states or moods within the viewer. The aim of commercials is not to appeal to the rational or conscious mind (which usually dismisses advertisements) but rather to implant moods that the consumer will associate with the product when it is encountered in real life. When we see product displays at a store, for instance, those positive emotions are triggered."

Besides, I'll watch it when it ends and the DVD's are out. =P

(and yes, I know I could get a TiVo or build me a mythbox... meh.)
