I 'm sure most of you (at least Josh) have read this book but Wendell Berry talks about simple, tried and true solutions to the "i dont know where im buying my stuff from" problem in his book Sex, Economy, Freedom & Community: Eight Essays.

One of his essays is all about local people making, selling, and buying locally. Its been done that way for thousands of years. Huh, maybe we really can learn something from those people in the past. who would have thought.

A very inspiring call to action. I recently wrote about Chiquita's pock-marked history on my blog. Now, every time I consider buying a banana in the market, I feel guilty knowing that it once supported listed and known terrorist groups.
