LOST Recap.
Can anyone name a bad episode this season? I mean they’ve churned out close to 20 episodes and I don’t feel like there has been a drop off at all.
There have been rumors spreading that Mikhail didn’t die from the sonic fence zap. It makes me wonder what he’s been doing for the 2 days. And I’m pretty sure that what “Naomi” (the parachutist) said was not “Thank you”. She said something that he isn’t translating for them.
I’m also a little confused as to her story. It was a bit weird that she spoke Spanish at first. Chinese. Later Italian. Then English. As much as I want to believe what she told Hurley . . . I’m a bit skeptical at this point because I’m unsure of the soundness of her mind and thinking. Maybe her head got jarred. Maybe she has a concussion. I don’t know. But I’m skeptical of her story.
Which speaking of . . . means 1 of 2 things the way I see it.
1) The Others/Jacob staged another plane crash so that no one would look for the real survivors of flight 815. Which means that the plane was brought to the island on purpose. If this is the case (which I’m unsure of yet), I think Jacob brought the plane to the island on purpose. But I don’t believe Ben knew anything about it. That’s why he was so surprised and had Mikhail pull the information on the passengers. If Ben knew about it previously . . . he would have already had that info.
2) There are two time lines. Like String Theory. Desmond changed something with turning the key. And there are two alternate planes of time existing. Running parallel to each other. This is obviously the more sci-fi of the theories. Which is why I think I like it so much. I still think “time” is a big factor on the island. TIME LOST = MITTELOS. Desmond is doing something with time. It’s warping. Maybe that had something to do with their being one plane that made it to the island and one plane crashing. Time split and went off in 2 different directions. Which is what we’re seeing on Heroes with the present Hiro and future Hiro.
I don’t think Juliet is bad. She is obviously trying to get off the island and is playing Jack and the Losties. But I really don’t think she wants to. This is obvious at this point. What is not . . . is who were the other women that she was supposed to collect samples on. She said Kate. Which explains why they got Sawyer and Kate together in the cages. But who could the other women be? Rose? They’ve already examined Claire.
I also have a random theory about why the island heals cancer and increases sperm counts (hahaha) but kills babies and women. Perhaps there is something on the island that speeds up or activates something in the body that attacks foreign objects. In the case of cancer . . . it attacks it. Destroys it. But in the same way . . . with a fetus . . . it attacks the fetus . . . attacks the foreign object and kills it and the mother.
Not sure if that is even scientifically possible. But it’s the best guess I have so far.
Did I miss anything? Anybody else notice anything?
It also goes without saying that Locke’s dad is the real Sawyer. The one that James Ford (the man we know as Sawyer) and his mom was conned by as a child. In the previews for next week Locke says he captured Ben. But I don’t think it’s Ben. It’s his dad. And he’s asking Sawyer to kill him.
The Others are also close to the Losties then in location. If Locke can meet up with Sawyer next week. So that means there is about to be a big showdown. Mark my words. And some of the rumors are that there will be a huge showdown. The Losties will split up into two groups themselves. One led by Jack and one led by Sawyer or Locke. I have more spoilers that are pretty big but I’ll be quiet cause I don’t want to spoil it for some of you. But let me know if you want to know and I’ll share them. Maybe in the comments.

You may be on to something with the body attacking foreign objects. It is a reality with pregnancy with the RH factor, where the mother’s body creates anti-bodies. My wife had to have the shot that reverses it, so we could have baby #2. It’s like the island helps your body fight off any abnormality. Ben’s tumor throws a wrench in to all of that though.
This is way out there, but, with time warping and all, could actual object that we are seeing on the island repeatedly, be keys to jumping back and forth, i.e. Desmond’s picture with Penny, the black and white rocks, the hula doll, and many more that I cannot think of.

Btw, I’d have to go back and listen again – but you’re right – she definitely didn’t say “Thank You” to Patchy – this is what someone in a comment said on another site:
“If anyone caught it she before they let Mikhail go she said something along the lines of “Are we ready†in Spanish (Era listamos) if I understood her correctly. Mikhail said she said “thank you†but that is not correct at all. If that is the case she was asking Mikhail if the Others were ready for some sort of strike and her story about the plane crash is meant as a psychological warfare tactic or to throw off anyone searching for them.”

i heard it was translated this . . . When Mikhail tells Desmond that Naomi said, “Thank you,” (or something along those lines), it sounds like she’s speaking Brazilian Portuguese and she’s saying,”Eu não estou só,” which translates to “I’m not the only one,” or “I’m not alone.” This is possibly in conjunction with the discovery of the backpack containing the book entitled “Ardil 22″ the Portuguese-language version of “Catch 22.”

Locke’s dad is the real Sawyer. Locke breaks away from the Others and gets Sawyer. Not sure yet if Locke is working for the Others on this. But I think he’s flying solo. I still think he’s playing the Others. And Cooper dies.
Two weeks from now . . . it will be a flashback to the creation of Dharma. It will all be set in the past in the 70s. The guy they found in the hippie VW fan (Roger Workman) is Ben’s dad. The DeGroots adopted him we think.
The next episode will be focused on Charlie. The day he ran into Desmond when it was raining in London . . . he saves Naomi (the new girl) from a mugger later on in the day.
Jack devises a plan to do away with “The Others†once and for all, Sayid uncovers a flaw in “The Others’†system that could lead to everyone’s rescue. But it requires Charlie to take on a dangerous task that may make Desmond’s premonition come true.
Sawyer and Sayid become good friends.
The season finale will be a 2 hour episode featuring Jack. The Losties break into two camps. One led by Locke and/or Sawyer. And the other led by Jack.
And supposedly the wire that runs into the water is going to save them all. They will be presented with a chance to leave the island in the last episode.

This is so sad. I think I’m becoming addicted to this show – but ONLY because of your blog. I’ve seen the light – it’s a good show. Thanks for the spoilers – I don’t even care that I may know what’s going to happen – it’s like it makes me want to watch it more.

the producers and others who work on the show leak some information. plus there are some people who watch the filming while they’re shooting on location and report back. and then others pay attention to when they add new characters to the show. or when they have auditions for support actors for the flashbacks. this helps them piece together some of it.
but a lot of it comes from leaks.
check out the jay and jack podcast and site. that’s where i go and they have a lot of good reliable info there.
