You should check out "The Persuaders" - a documentary on some pretty scary marketing tactics (I found it on Netflix). Also, check out the new book, "Not Buying It: My year without shopping" by Judith Levine. I have found it interesting/convicting that since my wife and I have stopped going to church we have found ourselves shopping most Sunday mornings...hrm. I don't know why this is such a great statement, but I think it is. It should have some good implications, but I don't know what they are yet.
