Iranian Army Labeled Terrorist.

I’m not sure how this slipped by me. But the posturing continues. I really hope that W & Cheney aren’t dumb enough to try and pull something out in their remaining time in office. I’m fairly confident that an incoming office (Republican or Democrat) wouldn’t try something like that coming into office until they built up some credibility in the first couple of years and wouldn’t do it in the last couple of years so as not to screw up their 2nd term bid. Especially without staffers like Wolfowitz and Rove influencing decisions.

So that should buy us a little bit of time provided that W & Cheney don’t start smelling blood in the water.

But I’m getting more and more convinced that they do in smell blood in the water of American sentiment towards Iran. And they’ve put the machine back into full gear to convince us. To be fair, it could be diplomatic posturing. But to be fair again, I have a rather large body of evidence (7 years) that would suggest otherwise.

This video that I posted yesterday shows how much is similar to the ramp up in Iraq. This newest development in combination with what I’ve linked to here, here, and here. It has an eerie feeling (to me at least) that some people are trying to get their ducks in a row.

Let’s see… they’re providing explosives and rockets to terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. They support Hezbollah and Hamas, and were involved in Hezbollah’s provocations against Israel last year. They are also heavily involved in Iran’s quest for nuclear technology, including nuclear weapons. Iran’s president repeatedly makes statements about wiping Israel off the map and referring to the US as “the Great Satan.” And you think that it’s us ramping up the rhetoric?

well this time i’d like to see proof instead of the spin machine’s “trust me” on this.

you know . . . like there are definitely WMDs. Sadaam and Bin Laden are definitely best friends. Sadaam is funding al-Qaeda. iraq is definitely developing nuclear technology. iraq is trying to sell said nuclear technology to anyone and everyone. iraq has concrete plans in place to attack us interests state side.

i mean that’s what they told us last time. so all i’m saying is that they better prove some shit this time instead of just ramping up rhetoric and expecting us all to fall in line.

Most (not all) of the things I listed aren’t things that have to be proven. There’s no doubt about Iran’s nuclear ambitions. There’s no doubt about what Ahmadinejad has been saying. Iran’s support of Hamas and Hezbollah is well known.

The only thing that I can think of that needs to be “proven” is Iran’s support of terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. But in context, it’s not a stretch.

Other than personally traveling to Iraq and investigating the shrapnel yourself, who are you going to believe? Democrats hate Bush with a passion, to the point that they would deny any claims of Iranian interference there, no matter how well-founded those claims were. So their denials are as equally untrustworthy as anything else.

And my original point is that the “ramping up rhetoric” has been primarily on the Iranian side.

In any case, I think perhaps the biggest foolishness in this whole mess is not doing a better job controlling Iraq’s borders. If it’s true that a lot of the crap happening in Iraq is due to terrorists and explosives coming in from Iran and Syria, then shut those borders down. Don’t let anything (or anyone) through them. Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like a first step in dealing with this problem. But then again, we can’t control our own borders…
