The Weekend That Was

This is most definitely one of the better/restful weekends I’ve had in a long time. Made me feel like a kid again when the weekend was something to look forward to as opposed to a time to get all of your errands done because you were to tired during the week.

Friday Night. I went with Eric to a new favorite of mine . . . Galaxy Games. I played video games with hardcore gamers who only play with a keyboards as opposed to controllers. W A S D for life is now my new motto for life. Talked some D&D & LOST with the owner while having Eric teach me what keyboard buttons do what is a good night in my book. Picked up a little wiener dog for a friend to dog sit all weekend. Wiener dog then preceded to hump his blanket and Jack’s torso all night long. Then worked into the wee hours on some website designs. Smoked a nice bowl on my pipe (and by nice bowl I mean I didn’t have to relight . . . 30-45 minutes straight).

Saturday. Got 50 free downloads on eMusic courtesy of Wess. Downloaded The National, Stars, Mason Jennings, Caribou, & Beirut. Went to Suwanee Days. Voted one of the top 10 places to live in the U.S. (suburban edition I’m sure). Took my boy Jack with us and he chilled. Got to eat a “festival” gyro which always taste better. Came home. Took both dogs for a walk. Went back to Suwanee Days for the local music. And laughed with Anna about the quality of the local music. Brought a blanket and Anna read the first Harry Potter (just started) and I read What is the What. Tried some new Italian dish (Cavatelli). Craig & Kristen met up with us. Got a “festival” funnel cake and toyed with the idea of getting fried Oreos. Came home and smoked another bowl on the pipe. Played night ball with Jack which is a variation of day ball which is when I throw a tennis ball on the roof and he tries to catch it on the way down. Fell asleep with the windows open and woke up to a cool breeze.

Sunday. Read in bed. Wrestled with Jack. Took humping dog back. Washed the car and cleaned out the inside. Dressed up like Rex Kwando and hiked down into the retention pond in our neighborhood to cut some newly arrived cat tails for a pillow while Anna watched from the non-West Nile virus area. Determined the cat tails were there from last year when we busted some with the Tanks. Decided we were something along the lines of cross-pollinators. Abandoned the mission when we realized they weren’t ripe (not sure of the word) yet and that I might get attacked by a sewer alligator or moccasin. Watched The Sopranos in bed with Anna. Decided it would be a good idea to fix my computer. It was loose around the edges from when I had taken it apart a year ago and didn’t put the screws back correctly (it wouldn’t stay closed without weight on it). Got out the needle nosed pliers and bent the frame from when I dropped it less than a week out of the box last year. Put screws back. Popped some keys off the keyboard and used a tweezer and some compressed air to get all of my shedding hair out from underneath it. Determined to only use the computer with a hair net. Couldn’t get the pieces back on because I broke a few. Finally found a solution. Vowed to never do it again. Anna dropped her first Harry Potter reference into normal conversation seamlessly. Going to the store with Anna to find some type of M&M holding apparatus.

What did you do this weekend?

What do I do this weekend?

Friday Night. Tried to reach over to Josh’s keyboard and make him turn off his flashlight in the tactical shooter we were on the same team in. Somehow, having a flashlight on seems to be the very antithesis of stealth.

A great time was had though. Funny how much more fun such events can be with people you didn’t know 2 hrs previously. And the game doesn’t even have to be particularly violent, as evidenced by the extreme awesomeness of Carball.

Great to hear you can keep your bowl lit. . . it is an art, and that you are talking D&D.

Do you have to put in a CC# to get those 50 free downloads from emusic.
