Friday Is For Friends: Troy Bronsink.

I’m going to try and start profiling different bloggers that I read. I’ll do this every other Friday, alternating with my Friday Is For Playlists. Partly because I’m lazy and it’s easy content. But also because there are some really good thinkers and practitioners out there that you may not have heard of. So I’ll begin with a local guy.

I drove down to hang out with Troy Bronsink last week. If you don’t know Troy, you’re missing out. Troy was recently named one of Atlanta’s Least Influential People by Creative Loafing Magazine, which I think has to be one of the better awards out there. He also has a chapter in An Emergent Manifesto of Hope (my review here) on being God’s handiwork. We did a short little podcast while I was down there that will be coming out soon so stay posted. But we talked about art, pastoring, the suburbs, city life, and the “acts” we do as artifacts (can’t wait for you to hear about this on the podcast).

I’m sorry if it sounds like I have a man crush. I usually save those for one of these guys. But Troy is a really good guy with some really insightful thoughts and if you don’t know him or follow what he’s doing . . . you’re missing out.
