When Jack was attesting to Kate’s character on the stand, he said that there were originally 8 people who survived the crash but two had died – - besides Kate’s great efforts to save them.

I forgot to add – - I definately think that Aaron, is Claire’s Aaron. Look at how old he is, he is talking so he has to be between two and three, in order for the baby to be Sawyers, like 4 years would have had to pass. There is no way Kate would not have been brought to trial before then and if you think about it, the hype about the Oceanic 6 would have died way down. Claire said Aaron was 4 1/2 months……so this would mean that a year and a half or so have passed. I believe Claire is dead.

This twist reminds me of what I was told before Lost had even premiered in 2004: That “Emilie de Ravin’s character’s unborn child is connected to the history of the island.” Word is, that was the original pitch and storyboard for the full series that was presented by JJ Abrams and his team back in the day, and it seems a fair bet that Aaron–the only child to be born on the island–is still at the chewey-gooey epicenter of this ever more layered Lost mythology.

If Claire’s Aaron was rescued from the island then everyone in the world would know about the baby. Kate had to tell the other lawyer she had a child. Was she just pregnant when she left the island (and not showing) or did the baby get off the island separately like Ben (allowing it then to be Claire’s or Kate’s). We weren’t given a date for that flashforward I don’t think. All we know is that Claire’s Aaron was born Oct/Nov 2004 and that Jack with beard flashforward had to be Spring 2007 at the earliest because of the phone – making the trial sometime between the two.

i changed my mind about daniel trying to be psychic. when we see Daniel Faraday trying to figure out what those cards were, it was because he was trying to see if his memory was improving.

I think that Daniel has short-term memory loss this is why he is so unsure of himself, and why Charlotte seemed to be trying to comfort him when he didn’t get all the cards right, and why Naomi called him a headcase. This also might explain why Daniel was crying in his flashback and didn’t know why – he knew he should be crying because the plane wreckage was found, but couldn’t remember why (maybe he had a family member on the plane?).

if it was claire’s baby, and the baby did survive off the island . . . wouldn’t the baby be just as famous? even moreso? plus don’t you think that they would have capitalized on the baby in the court case? i know kate said no to her lawyer about that idea. but seriously . . . why wouldn’t they at least allude to in his questioning and arguments. especially if he’s trying to prove her character, why wouldn’t he say that she took aaron and adopted him because his mother died. that would play huge on character. and plus, wouldn’t jack have mentioned in his little lie. talking about how great kate is and was by rescuing everybody. wouldn’t he have mentioned something about that in relationship to her character?

and kate wouldn’t have claimed her as her own coming off the island because they would have known from the manifest.

my crackpot theory . . . sawyer slipped one past the goal line. sawyer dies sacrificing himself. jack loves kate. but can’t deal with the baby’s daddy sacrificing himself for jack and kate and the others. and that kate and aaron remind him of the island and sawyer. that’s why he can’t deal with it.

I called that the baby would be Aaron.

I am also really interested in the fact that they now have added C.S. Lewis (Charlotte Staples Lewis) to the cast of characters. Is the show about to take a sharp theological or spiritual twist?

not necessarily. it has more to do with the time travel side of things. like wizard of oz, alice in wonderland, etc. that there is this “other world” type thing going on.

Just wanted to throw in my $.02; I personally agree with your theory that “Aaron” is Kate and Sawyer’s kid.

However, it is also VERY important to note the child’s English pronunciation. Didn’t you notice that “Mommy” sounded a whole lot more like “Mummy”?

Conversely (it might be just nitpicking) I would definitely point out that a child at about 5 months would absolutely NOT pick up an Australian accent if he were to be rescued within 2 or 3 months.

The whole Jin and Sun thing about Sun saying “i want to raise my baby in Korea” really caught my attention. anyone have any thoughts on this? Sun also made a big deal about Sayid not making it to the ship. could the baby be sayid’s? stretching but they did make a big point of her and Jin arguing about “my/our” baby.
