On Vacation.

Anna and I are in Destin for a week staying with her parents for part of it and some friends for another. We drove in last night and listened to the Omnivore’s Dilemma on the way down which means I’m probably never eating meat again. This morning Anna and her mom went for a walk along the beach. And me and her dad unloaded the Vespa from the inside (like a glove) of the Element. I then took a quick ride along the beach front. The wind was gusting at 25 miles an hour which made things a little squirrelly. Which I can deal with were it not for the thousands chards of sand slicing my face open like little bits of glass. Anyway . . . went back and got my helmet to protect me from the sand and then drove around and took a few pictures. Now I’m going to listen to G. Love, take a shower in an outdoor shower, and do a little bit of work before lunch. Here are a few pics from this morning’s drive.

The most important being that I topped off the tank with the high grade gas at $3.43 and will get 80 or so miles out of that. Even at the high end of the gas spectrum . . . that’s pretty freaking amazing. Jealous?

Looking good dude.

ODI and DarkUFO have some really interesting takes on The Constant. 3 long ass articles (2 on UFO) about it that were interesting, but you prolly already read them.

Have fun on vacation.

Cheers.

Gas at $3.43 ???

You guys just don’t know you’re born. Over here, it’s the equivalent of $9.32 per gallon (say £1.07 per litre).

We’re so green.

As soon as I pressed submit, I remembered your gallons are smaller.

That’s $8.03 per US gallon.

Whoa! For a second there I thought you had attached an oversized dune buggy whip-flag on your Vespa!
