So here’s the update on the Indian Taxi Fund . . . in less than 1 week we have raised right at $1000.00. This is huge and I can’t thank those who have lended enough. We also have 3-4 projects coming in via Red Cowboy Designs that will add another $2000+ or so to the total. So we’re moving along at a pretty rapid pace and almost 40% there once the money from the Red Cowboy projects come in.
Here’s where I need your help . . . I don’t want to lose any momentum we have with this initiative. We’ve lost a little bit because I just have been so busy that I haven’t been able to keep it in front of people. So I could really use everybody’s help promoting it on their blogs. I want to thank all of you who have already done so! You guys rock!
So if you could 1) help me get it in front of new eyes via your blog, business, or church, we’ll hit the magic number in twice the time.
And 2) help me be creative in different ways your business or church can get involved. I certainly don’t expect every business to give away free things. But if you do have a small business or organization that you help lead, I’d love to be imaginative with you in how we can bring your platform into the fold.
One idea would be for all the publishers who send us free books for the podcast & blog to work up some sort of idea. Hint, hint.
I’ve also got these books available for a $25 loan. So if you make a $25 loan, I’ll send you one of these books and I’ll cover the shipping out of my pocket.
Books Available:
- 3 Copies of Rising From The Ashes by Becky Garrison
- Reasons To Believe by John Marks
- We The Purple by Marcia Ford
- The Voice of Luke by Brian McLaren
- The New Atheists Crusaders by Becky Garrison
- Jesus Brand Spirituality by Ken Wilson
- Renovation of the Heart by Dallas Willard
- The Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton
Perhaps doing something similar on your blog and clearing out your bookshelf might be a good idea/fit for you. ***UPDATE*** Matt Scott already took me up on this idea and one upped me. Check out his book list for sale.
I’m not to the point of begging (yet) . . . but I really believe strongly in this idea and I would love to keep this thing going and not let it die out. So anything you can do to help me do that will make you my absolute best friend.
I’ll also give out my PayPal information for anyone who wants to verify and keep me accountable with the money.
Again . . . thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m going to try and get Amit to write a letter that I’ll post here over the weekend.
***UPDATE*** I found this new program (PayPal clone) that lets you donate money without paying them a cut of the money. I’ll still leave the PayPal link up but this is legit as well. And if you sign-up using the button below, I get $10 in my account and you get $25 free. So if you were so inclined you could use that as well for the Indian Taxi Fund or you could buy you something nice.
or . . .
