New Video Blog – Explorations In Subversion.

subversion.jpg

I had some spare time this morning so I hammered out some rather disconnected thoughts I had about what makes art good and what makes art bad. It’s my effort to discuss the themes of art, culture, and theology against the backdrop of subversion. This week’s thought centers around good art and bad art. And how we use good art to shock ourselves back into the real world and out of the daily grind. The challenge I’m wrestling with is not to reject popular culture, but rather how do I stand in the middle of and recognize it for what it is and use it to flip the existing paradigm on end.

Video Blog.

This was originally intended to be a Christmas video. But I never got around to it and didn’t shoot enough footage. So it’s just a mix of some of the stuff I shot during the holidays and this month. Enjoy.

I Had Grand Ambitions.

If you haven’t already seen, Jessica recorded a little video of my attempt at riding a bike to the grocery store.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go as well as I had hoped. The brakes barely worked when I hammered them down. And the chain fell of twice because the gears wouldn’t change properly.

I’ll just say this, Tank has been complaining about what’s it like living with someone who likes to video blog anything and everything. I stood by Jessica and supported her creative endeavors. No longer can I say this.

Please go easy on Anna and her lack of a steady hand. After all, it was her idea. She already did so much work just coming up with the idea.

The Mountains.

Anna and I went to the mountains this weekend so that I could finish up the chapter for our little ambitious book project. We made this video blog while we were gone. If you’re prone to seizures, you might not want to watch this one.
